Technical library
An index of the evidence behind every Hurricane Solution technical claim, with plain-English summaries and the exact scope of each document.
How to use this library
Every technical claim on this site should trace back to a document, a test or a project. They are collected here by topic, with a plain-language summary and the exact scope of each: which product, which assembly and which test. An approval for one assembly is never transferred to another system.
No properly engineered, installed, anchored and deployed Hurricane Solution system has ever failed during a hurricane.
A · Product specifications
HS-875, HS-1250 and HS-1500 compared
| System | Documented strength (Mullen, ASTM D3786) | Visibility | Typical use | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HS-875 | 825 PSI | 5% open; see-through | Inland/off-beach residential and commercial (about 3 km+ from the coast) | 5 years |
| HS-1250 | 1,250+ PSI | 5% open; transparent white, you can make out what is on the other side | All zones, including beachfront; where aesthetics and visibility matter | 7 years |
| HS-1500 | 1,500+ PSI | Translucent; light passes but you cannot make out the other side | All zones, including beachfront; maximum protection / closed-envelope strategy | 10 years |
B · ASTM E1996 Missile Level E
ASTM E1996 Missile Level E fires an approximately 9-lb 2×4 at 80 ft/s: about 2.56 times the kinetic energy of Level D at 50 ft/s. It is used for essential facilities in the strongest wind zones. It is an ASTM test level, not a military certification. In the Hurricane Solution line it applies to the HS-1500 assembly. See Level E.
C · Product approvals
| System | Approval | Number |
|---|---|---|
| HS-1500 | Miami-Dade NOA | 25-0519.01 |
| HS-1500 | Florida Product Approval | FL17661-R5 |
| HS-1250 | System approval | None published; material evidence only |
| HS-875 | System approval | To be documented per exact configuration |
For scope and expiration, look up the number directly in the Miami-Dade or Florida Building product search.
D · Anchoring and load path
Performance depends on the complete load path: screen, flexible clip, fastener, anchor and substrate. On-site pull testing (ASTM E488) documents each substrate. See patented anchoring and certified anchors.
E · Material and PSI
On this site, PSI means one of two things: the material Mullen Burst (ASTM D3786) or the clearly labeled comparative impact/resistance model. The Saffir-Simpson scale classifies hurricanes by maximum sustained wind speed; the 1,200 PSI figure for Category 5 belongs only to the comparative impact model and is not static hurricane pressure. See testing and certifications.
F · Storm records
We keep two separate records: the global system-family history (155 storms, 2006–2026) and the Hurricane Solution operating record (Yucatán since 2008, Vallarta since 2016, Cabo since 2015). See storm record.
G · Case studies
- US Navy hospital, Guam: 274 km/h specification.
- DIF Solidaridad: shelter; 2013 letter (PDF).
- Puerto Cancún: 1,231.67 m² with HS-1250, deployed for Hurricane Milton (2024).
- All cases: case studies.
H · Insurance and warranties
System warranties: HS-875 5 years, HS-1250 7 years, HS-1500 10 years. Handover documentation for insurers is described in insurance documentation.
